Chispa in the Caribbean

Green Island. Hard to believe these beautiful tiny dream islands actually exist

If one has to sail at all, there can be no other place like the Caribbean. The many islands are very varied and all beautiful in different ways. Of course, the weather, water and soft winds just add to the magic.

Many a time we were tied up to a tree or rock along a beach near a rustic pub. The water temperature was about 28C which meant numerous dips to view lovely coral reefs teeming with paintbox coloured fish.

Caribbean sunsets are not complete without delicious, and often, powerful cocktails. Jan's cousins, Cees and Inge live in St Maarten. Lien and her sister Jos, visited the family whist Jan and Markus were there. A bit of who's who in the family - Inge is Lien's daughter, Markus is Jos's son and Jan is Jos and Lien's cousin too!
